Description
InfoBot is a program created in VB.NET that intercepts certain text commands in any Yahoo Messenger Chat room, and runs a particular function, and displays the results back to the room. Anyone in the chat room can enter an associated command, and the InfoBot will then return the information! You can define words, translate English words to Spanish, request Jokes, Quotes, Calculate numbers, display links, and more!
Current Supported Applications : Yahoo Messenger
Installing the Program
To install the program, simply double click the InfoBotSetup.msi file in order to run the setup program. The only requirement to run the program is that the windows machine needs to have the .NET Framework installed. Try running the program, if you get errors when you try to open it, you most likely need the files. You can get the Framework here.
Using the Program
In order to utilize the InfoBot, you must first “tag” an available open chat room window. This simply means press the “tag” button when you have your chat room window open. The status window states that you have 5 seconds to locate the chat room input box, where you would normally input text. Simply place your mouse cursor inside of the box. If successful, the program should then ask to start the Bot!
To start the bot, simply press the “Start”. That’s it! You should now see the intro message being entered into the room, which includes the list of enabled commands. All of the commands are able to be enabled or disabled on the fly, simply uncheck the checkbox next to the command in order to disable it. For more information on the commands and what each one does, see below.
