Description

EZVidCap is a program I wrote in VB.NET that allows you to capture still images from a vide device, most notably webcams. You can quickly capture images in BMP, JPG, GIF, PNG, TIFF, and WMF formats. Its small, easy to use, and best of all, its FREE!

Installing the Program

To install the program, simply double click the .MSI installation package and run the setup. The only requirement to run the program is that the .NET framework needs to be present on the system.

***NOTE: If you get an error like “Application Failed to Initialize Properly”, then you need the .NET Framework installed on your machine (see link above).

Using the Program

Using EZVidCap is simple. All you need to do is plug your video device in, and start the program. The detected device should be listed. After that, click on “Start Preview” in order to start the video stream from the device. When you wish to capture an image, simply press the “Capture Image” button. That is it. You can change the save path and filetype of the captured images in the settings.

Once an image is captured, it appears in the image list to the right of the preview window. If you right-click one of the captured images, you have the options to open the pic in an external program, or delete the image from your computer.
