Description
EZCamGrab is a program created in VB.NET that is used to capture JPG snapshots quickly and easily from any WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) supported webcam. WIA devices are normally shown in the Windows XP “Scanners & Camera” folder in control panel. If your device is listed there, then most likely it is WIA supported.
***Note - WIA support is only available on Windows XP SP1 and later.
Installing the Program
To install the program, simply double click on the “EZCamGrabSetup.msi” file provided on the download link. The windows machine needs to have the .NET Framework installed. Try running the program, if you get errors when trying to open, you most likely need the files. You can get the Framework here.
Using the Program
When opening the program, EZCamGrab will attempt to automatically detect the connected device. If one is found, then all you need to do is simply click the “Grab!” button, and the image will be saved and shown in the “Captured Image” box. The default directory to save the images will be the application directory, but can be modified. The “Prefix” option allows you to give the saved files a common name, and each captured file will be saved to a new file name equal to that of the prefix plus a counter. EZCamGrab automatically saves the picture to a new file with each press of the “Grab!” button.
