Olympics Are Over :(
Well, I have watched a ton of Olympics these past few weeks, the most I have watched of any Olympics. I really enjoyed it :) Some of the things I remember:
The Good
- South Korea’s domination of Short Track - 10 medals of the country’s 11 total medals
- Hendrick becoming the third American athlete to win 3 medals at a Winter Olympics
- Apollo Ohno becoming the fourth American athlete to win 3 medals at a Winter Olympics, 1 day after Hendrick did
- US Speed Skating Team Domination - Davis, Hendrick, and Joey Cheek get 7 medals combined, 3 gold, 2 silver, and a bronze
- Shani Davis becoming the first African American gold medalist in a Winter Olympics
- Sasha Cohen’s Silver medal in figure skating… mmmm…
- Belbin and Agosto’s Silver Medal in Ice Dancing… Belbin is Hotttttt!
- The Flying Tomato!! Representing RedHeads worldwide!!! hehehe
- Italy’s gold in the last event, the 50km Winter “Marathon”, when this is the first year that the last event medals would be awarded at the closing ceremonies, thus all the Italians (the host country) got to hear the national anthem TWICE.. one for the medal ceremony, and then later on, as it was part of the normal closing ceremonies….
The Bad
- Austria’s doping raid
- Davis and Hendricks feud
- Canadain Hockey Team, where the sport was invented, were shut out of the medals.
- One Word - Bode. I absolutely despise Bode Miller, because of his comments and attitude, and was rooting for him to not win. It worked! He went 0-5, and did not even cross the finish line in three of the events.
