XBox 360 Mania Has Started…
Circuit City on Friday started selling the Xbox 360 consoles on its website, sadly, I was totally unaware of this. They managed to sell out of their entire online stock in under three hours. During this time, the website was flooded with people, and most online customers experienced large slowdowns.
Circuit City was the first site to start selling the consoles online instead of pre-ordering, and the customers also had to pay shipping costs in order for it to arrive by Tuesday, the nationwide release at regular brick-and-mortar stores.
Looks like I will have to drive around town at around Midnight on Monday night in order to see if the lines are short enough for me to want to get out of the car and stand for another hour or two while waiting to see if I can actually purchase one. There is one positive note, though. The students here are all probably going to be out of town for Thanksgiving, so maybe I might actually have a chance at snagging one of em… I can just see me right now.. bowling over a row of teens, kicking people left and right… bribing the store clerks for shortcuts to the game aisle…
